In-Person Policies
Cancellation Policy
All in-person conference and workshop cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@canisconference.com no later than 12:00 AM EDT on August 4, 2026. Cancellation requests received by this deadline will be eligible for a 50% refund of the original registration fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations submitted after 12:01 AM EDT on August 4, 2026, or for no-shows.

Payment Plan
A payment plan is available only for in-person registrations. Here’s how it works:

At checkout, select the option to pay by invoice. The CANIS Team will email you an invoice within 1–2 business days, along with instructions to begin your plan.

The total cost will be divided into three equal payments.

Your first payment must be made within 7 days of receiving the invoice.

Your registered spot is not held until the first payment is received.

Full payment must be completed before the conference.

CANIS Con, its instructor(s), designer(s), contractor(s), exhibitor(s), sponsor(s), and owner(s) shall have neither liability nor responsibility to any person or entity with respect to any loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by the information contained in this conference.

For that reason, this conference is sold without any guarantees or warranties of any kind.

By participating in the CANIS Conference, attendees acknowledge and accept that they do so at their own risk. CANIS Con, its staff, partners, volunteers, and venue assume no liability for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property during the event.

Substitution Policy
If you are unable to attend, you may designate a substitute to attend in your place at no additional charge. Substitution requests must be submitted by August 4, 2026, in writing to info@canisconference.com.

Workshops/VIP
Conference registration includes general sessions for the selected days. Some workshops require separate registration and additional fees. These sessions may have limited capacity and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dog Attendance Policy
No personal dogs unless registered for working spots during the CANIS Conference.
​
To maintain a safe and productive environment for all attendees, CANIS Conference organizers reserve the right to require the removal of any attendee and their dog—including service dogs and service dogs-in-training—if the dog exhibits aggressive, unsafe, or disruptive behavior. This includes, but is not limited to, behaviors that pose a threat to others, cause significant distraction, or interfere with the event’s operations.

Service Dogs:
Service dogs and service dogs-in-training are welcome in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Handlers are responsible for the dog's behavior and control at all times. Service dogs must:

Be on leash or under handler control via cues or gestures

Be house-trained and non-disruptive

Exhibit no aggressive or unsafe behavior (e.g., lunging, growling, biting, bolting)​

Emotional support animals and therapy are not permitted unless specifically allowed under the laws of the host state.

Photography, Audio & Video Recording
CANIS reserves the right to photograph, record, and use images or audio from the event for promotional or educational purposes. By attending, you grant CANIS permission to use your image or likeness, unless you opt out in writing. Recording or photographing sessions by attendees is strictly prohibited and may result in removal without refund.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
CEUs are available and are pending approval by applicable organizations. Final CE totals and qualifying sessions are subject to change. It is the attendee's responsibility to verify eligibility and track their credits.

Code of Conduct
At the CANIS Conference, we’re committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where all attendees feel welcome and respected. We ask that everyone conduct themselves in a professional and considerate manner throughout the event.

To support this mission, CANIS has a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior, harassment, or violations of our code of conduct both at the conference, and in online forums. Failure to correct this behavior will result in removal from the event without a refund. Our goal is to ensure a positive experience for all members of our community.

CANIS is committed to a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, or professional background. Harassment, discrimination, or bullying in any form will not be tolerated.

Recording Access
Your registration includes recording access and you will receive access instructions after the event. Recordings will be available for a limited time only.
